Drag a knob to adjust
SDL50 Instrument simulator

Set up the level

Turn the three foot screws to centre the bubble. Clockwise raises that foot and moves the bubble towards it.

Check bubble checks levelling only. Judge focus by what you can see.

Focus the crosshairs with the eyepiece, then focus the staff. Use fine motion to centre the staff.

Drag levelling screws left or right. Drag the focus and aiming knobs up or down. Hold Shift for smaller changes.

Keyboard: focus the instrument view. Keys 1-3 select the foot screws; 4 selects staff focus, 5 the eyepiece and 6 fine motion. Use the arrow keys to adjust.

Digital keys: P powers on, L lights the display, M opens menus, D and R select, Enter accepts, Space measures and Escape goes back. Hold P and press L to switch off. On the model, Shift-click the light key is the one-pointer equivalent.

Press 7 and use arrow keys to tilt the bubble mirror. You can also drag the mirror cover.

Drag the horizontal circle ring left or right to set its zero without moving the level. Press 8 and use arrow keys as an alternative.

RAB acquisition uses scene geometry. The face repeats Sokkia's published demonstration strip; it is not a calibrated full-length staff code. Serial transfer requires a receiver and the separate protocol specification.

The tripod is set up automatically. This prototype uses simulated screw travel and focus response.
